About Me
Hey, I’m Margaret Donald! I was born in the Bay Area but now spend my time primarily in New York City. I’ve been participating in theatre since I was a kid, with my major breakout role as Frog in second grade. Big stuff, I know. I’m drawn to the world of the arts for the creative structure it can provide. I appreciate the rules embedded into a script that an actor can rely on to evolve the story past what’s on the page while honoring the author’s intent. Acting was the way I entered the world of the arts, but it was this acknowledgement of structure paired with creativity that deepened my love for it. I find this deepened love in roles such as stage manager and production manager. The social tact required to navigate the day-to-day of productions and companies alike I find rewarding. Above all else, I try to bring an empathetic ear to any room I walk into, whether on stage or off, because there can be no creation without consideration.
When I’m not in the theatre, I’m most likely having a coffee at Philz. Which I desperately need brought to the East Coast. Or, I am commenting on the architecture of the buildings around me. I recently studied in Berlin, and the brutalist style never ceased to amaze me. You can also find me watching Muppets Most Wanted for the 15th time. If you ever need a full rendition, accents and all, hit me up. In my free time, I enjoy lollygagging, dillydallying, and the occasional citibiking.
